What can you expect when visiting The Auckland?

Prior to Arrival

We will be contacting you 48 hours before your stay, to confirm all details, restaurant reservations and any other requests. We will also give you the option to pay your balance and complete our check in process in order to minimise contact time and reduce traffic in our Reception area.

On Arrival

Please come to Reception as normal where, should you have taken advantage of the option to pre-pay in full, you will be given your room key. You will then be directed to your allocated bedroom in order to avoid any unnecessary congestion in our Reception area. This is to minimise check-in time and assisting with social distancing guidance.

Hand sanitiser stations are in place at entry points, public areas, reception, restaurant, bar and we encourage you to use these frequently, in addition to regular hand washing. New signage has been installed to ensure government required social distancing within the hotel.

Porterage

Our usual porterage services will be unavailable for most guests, at this time, to ensure we limit direct contact between guests and staff as much as possible. We are still able to provide this service for any guests with mobility issues and staff will take all precautions possible. If you are visiting us and will require help, please let us know when you make your booking so we can arrange this prior to your arrival.

Guest Bedrooms

We always have a high level of cleaning standards throughout our hotel. In addition to this, we will also be using a fogging machine to disinfect your room prior to your stay. Once this process has been carried out, the room will be sealed until you enter. Please note that all non-essential soft furnishings have been removed from your room.

Guest bedrooms will only be serviced upon request, this is to provide you with peace of mind throughout your stay. If you require any fresh supplies please ring down to Reception. If you would like your room servicing, please display the sign provided between 9am & 12noon. The room must be vacated in order for housekeeping to enter.

Contactless payment policy

The Restaurant, Bar and Reception will utilise contactless payment methods. To assist in this policy, you are encouraged to open a room credit account once at the hotel. Please bring your own pen to sign bar tabs etc.

Bar & Restaurant

All seating areas in the bar and restaurant have been configured to ensure social distancing is maintained in line with current government guidance. Tables, chairs and other surfaces will be sanitised after use.

To assist with social distancing, we request all residents only use their bedroom toilet facilities wherever possible. The toilet facilities located behind the bar will be closed until further notice.

Public Areas

All public areas are subject to social distancing guidelines. Our lift should only be used if absolutely necessary, with priority given to our guests with mobility issues. Social distancing guidelines will apply to the lift.

Hand sanitiser will be provided across all public areas and guests encouraged to sanitise their hands. The public areas will be thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis. The Reception and Bar will have sneeze screens in place. All touch points in public areas such as door handles, lift buttons, counter tops, table tops, soft seating etc. will be sanitised throughout the day using accredited disinfectants and sanitising products. Our disinfectant fogging machine will also be used by our overnight team in our public and staff areas in addition to our stringent cleaning regimes for additional peace of mind.

Signage will be displayed in all public areas reminding guests of any specific guidelines. All guests are encouraged to take time to familiarise themselves with the regulations in place.

Appropriate personal protective equipment will be worn by all team members and changed frequently. Protocols are in place for staff in our kitchen, restaurant and bar.

Social distancing

We remind all guests to follow government guidelines on social distancing. We are making every effort to make your environment safe and reserve the right to control social distancing within our hotel. Guests breaching our policies will be reminded of their responsibilities and any individuals persistently disregarding social distancing may be required to leave the hotel with immediate effect.

Check Out

We are limiting contact where we can and aim to make checkout as easy as possible. If your tab is less than £45 we can take the payment, contactless, at reception. If the amount is more or less you can ring down from your room to pay your remaining bill. On your way out of the building we ask that you use the key drop at reception to leave the key for the next user.
